A Milk and Cream Dream

Mini Nubians

We had lovely Purbread American Nubian goats for a few years, but found that they were a bit on the large side for our family. We read about Mini Nubians and it was the perfect match. We love the long, pendulous ears, the sweet personalities and the tasty milk. The Nigerian Dwarf influence lends some spectacular colors to the breed including blue eyes and moon spots.

We are members of the Miniature Dairy Goat Association and look forward to participating in virtual shows and milk testing this year.

Our Herd

The Southeastern US has some very fine breeders of Mini Nubian goats and we look forward to growing our heard with their excellent genetics!

Meet Oak Spring Meadows - Finn McCool - F6 - Barn name Finn

Birth Date: 07//2024

Finn brings parasite resistance, nice wide hooves, blue eyes, moon spots and a very affable personality along with strong milk genetics. His dam is a first freshener with Finn and his twin (2024) so we are hoping she will earn her milk star next year, just like her dam and grand-dam have already. Finn’s sire has his b* with milk stars on both sides of his lineage.

He will be bred to our girls in 2025 but for now we are just enjoying his company.

Ariel is a registered F1 generation doe. Her Dam was Purebred Nubian and her sire was F7. She comes from long-time breeder Amanda Cunningham-Burtch, of Chicka Hills, Chicamauga, GA

I was in love with her buckskin pattern with extensive white spots and badger face. She is like an earth-tone rainbow! The image below shows her first freshened udder at 8 hrs filed. We look forward to lots of milk from this girl!

Meet Hope’s Nest Here’s Looking at you Kid - Barn name Cassie

Birth Date: 04/11/2023 - F6 Purebred Mini Nubian

We love what she brings to the herd, ease of milking, excellent breed confirmation and that black and white coloring we gravitate toward. Although she will probably never be the cuddly girl that our other goats are, we have hope that her kids will be sweet and laid back like their sire is. We hope to breed her for Fall 2024 kids.

Gumby is a registered F8 generation buck. He comes from long-time breeder Amanda Cunningham-Burtch of Chichk HIlls, Chicamauga, GA

He has a laid-back, mellow personality, is not at all pushy with kids human or caprine, and is just a lovely gentleman. He will improve teat placement on his daughters and hopefully share his sweet personality.

2024 Kids

Ariel was our first Mini Nubian to kid on the farm and she had triplets! Her kids are F2 generation, sired by Gumby.

1 Buckskin buckling with a white pole and belly. He is a mild mannered boy much like his father. He is curious and gentle. We love his long and wide ears!

2 doelings:

The first doeling is black and white with roaning. She is an excellent F2 with a nice, flat, top line, lovely pendulous and wide ears and a decent roman nose.

The second doeling is black and tan with moon spots. She is the only kid born polled We love her easy going personality and lovely moonspots! Her ears will probably not hang as pendulous as we would like but she is our girl now - the kids made sure of that. And she is polled like her sire!

Breeding for gentle temperament, breed standards and good feet as well as parasite resistance and homestead milkers.
