Sales policy.
We absolutely love our goats and we want them to go to the very best homes. All of our animals are well taken care of including annual disease testing, parasite management, and 24/7 access to quality minerals and hay. Kids are dis-budded, tattooed, given coccidia control and dewormer if needed, and receive both* CD/T’s before leaving our farm.
Benjamin Forest Farm maintains the right to retain any goat born on our farm before making them available to the public.
Once breeding plans are posted, you can ask to be on the waiting list.
A few weeks after kidding is complete, We will being contacting people on the waiting list. First come first choice.
Kids can be reserved with a $100 reservation deposit until weening.
If the buyer decides not to purchase what they reserved, their deposit will be forfeited. We will not hold reservations based on coat color, polled, moonspots, or eye color. Deposits can NOT be moved to another kid if you decide you like another one better, after the reservation deposit has been accepted.
If the buyer has cancelled the sale, paid deposits cannot be applied to future purchases and deposit is forfeited.
When we have received a deposit on a goat, it will be marked as “Sale Pending”. Benjamin Forest Farm will only sell goats in pairs, unless the buyer already has goats of similar age. Goats are herd animals and need at least one other goat friend. All Mini Nubian goats will be disbudded if not born polled. If you wish for your goat to be left horned, we require payment in full in lieu of a deposit and the kid(s) must be picked up by 2 weeks of age, no exceptions, no refunds.
Bucklings will only be sold with a pet/companion unless the buyer has a companion of similar age already. Pet/buck companion wethers (or intent to wether) will be $150 or $50 with the purchase of a buck, and will not be registered.
Deposit
Deposits can be made via Paypal (friends and family) or Venmo.
Possession Timeframe
Kids are typically dual raised (dam and bottle) and will be available as bottle babies or when weaned, at our discretion. Kids will be ready to leave at 9-12 weeks of age and must be picked up by 14 weeks of age. Those not picked up by 14 weeks of age will be charged a $2 per day boarding fee, unless prior arrangements are made. A kid not picked up by the arranged date will result in all deposits being forfeited and the goat being put back up for sale. We try to be flexible when goats are being transported, within reason. Final payment is due in full before the goat(s) leave our farm. Final Payment is accepted in cash, Paypal (friends and family only) or Venmo.
Registration
All of our adults goats are registered with MDGA and/or TMGR. Kids will be sold registered or with the paperwork necessary to register them unless otherwise specified. It is the buyer’s responsibility to pay the registration and/or transfer fees. Wethers or bucks to be wethered will not be registered.
Wethers
Bucklings should not be wethered before 12 weeks of age for urinary health over their lifetime. Buyers can work with their vet to discuss best options for altering or bring the kid back to be altered via burdizzo at 12 weeks old.
Health Certificates and Transport
Transport is at the buyer’s expense. Health certificates are available at the buyer’s expense and can be scheduled with our vet or vet of the Buyer’s choosing. The cost of health certificate and vet visit, as well as any other testing, are the responsibility of the Buyer. Health certificates are required if traveling out of Georgia to another state. Multiple goats going to the same location can share one Health Certificate (and split the cost). Our herd is clean tested for CL/CAE/Johne’s and are G6s normal via testing or parentage in 2024.
First Right of Refusal
Benjamin Forest Farm (BFF) maintains FIRST RIGHT OF REFUSAL should the Buyer choose to sell any goat purchased from BFF. The Buyer is to notify BFF with intent to sell, giving BFF no less than 3 days to make a decision on the goat returning to BFF at the original price or less, paid for the goat.
Guarantee
We guarantee our goats are healthy when they leave us. We do not have control over what happens once they leave our farm and make no guarantees once they have left our property. However, we are more than happy to help new owners through the goat’s transition and love to keep in touch to find out how they are doing! We love to see photos of our babies just as much as we love hearing about them!
Benjamin Forest Farm reserves the right to cancel any reservation at any time, and a full refund will be returned to buyer or transferred to another animal if available. If the buyer backs out of sale for any reason, deposit monies will NOT be refunded.
